Walnut Recall Info
The Food Bank has been notified of a Walnut Recall.

The Walnuts were received to the Food Bank on June 10th 2024
The Walnuts were found to be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes.
In July 2024, Stutz Packing Company of Indio, California voluntarily recalled their 1-pound packages of shelled walnuts after they were found to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. The FDA later reclassified the recall to a Class I risk level, which means there is a "reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death". As of August 13, 2024, there have been no reported illnesses caused by the walnuts.
